I believe the max range of how far out you must be from M.D. Keep as many units away from Mount Doom as possible during the destruction process. He recommends that you keep ONLY the General that holds the Ring at the location where he's suppose to drop the ring at. Any other faction counts into this aswell. Basically the crash is affected mainly around how many units you have around Mount Doom. In some or possibly even several episodes throughout some of his campaigns, he's discussed the whole "Destroy the Ring" crash and why it happens and how to try and avoid it as much as possible. I didn't exactly get an answer from the forums or from any other place but I started watching Arachîr Galudirithon very often about half a year ago, ya know, the current leader for Divide & Conquer.
